Giving Tree Project for Christmas 2021

Giving Tree

After last year's successful start, the English-Speaking Mission is delighted to host a Giving Tree this year in partnership with Caritas! After Holy Mass on the first couple of Sundays of Advent, stop by the Giving Tree to claim an ornament and commit to purchasing a specific gift or a gift card for an individual or families in need. Purchase the gift or gift card specified on the ornament, wrap it, tag it with the ornament and return it by December 18th - our "Caritas Santa" will pick up all gifts from the church office on December 19th and  distribute them.

Restrictions on Public Masses and Covid-19 Guidelines

Owing to the recent alarming surge in new cases of COVID-19, the Archdiocese of Berlin has issued a new set of guidelines to support the parishes and communities in the protection of their members. Based on these guidelines all the Masses in the English speaking mission starting from Sunday 28 November 2021 will be celebrated under 2G or 3G regulations. Before you attend any of the Masses please check the guidelines and the requirements for attendance.

  • 10 a.m at All Saints       - 2G
  • 11 a.m at St. Bernard's  - 3G
  • 5 p.m at St. Bernard's   - 2G
  • 1 p.m at St. Elisabeth's - 2G

3G Compliance Requirements - Please bring with you proof that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19, have recovered within the last six months or have recently tested negatively for the virus. PCR tests should be no more than 48 hours old; rapid lateral flow tests (“Antigen-Tests”) may be no more than 24 hours old. For minors under 18 years a negative test result will be required, UNLESS they are regularly tested at school, in which case a school ID is sufficient.

2G Compliance Requirements - Please bring with you proof that you are either fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have recovered within the last six months. Negative PCR and rapid antigen test results alone cannot be accepted. For minors under 18 years a negative test result will be required, UNLESS they are regularly tested at school, in which case a school ID is sufficient.

When you arrive at the Church, please indicate your status (vaccinated, recovered or negatively tested) while you fill in the sign in sheet or after you use the Luca app to check-in. Please continue to observe the social distancing requirements and wear an FFP2 or medical mask.

The English-speaking Mission will be offering one Sunday Mass at All Saints, two Sunday Masses at St. Bernard's and one Sunday Masses at St. Elisabeth's. Members of the All Saints are requested to contact their community's office to register for Mass. Members of  St. Elisabeth can signup for the mass by sending SMS to 015214027996 and indicating your status there as vaccinated or recovered.

The celebration of Mass in English at the Catholic Academy continues to be suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, Fr. Leo Penta is offering a livestream Mass at 16:30 h CET for community members to access: please contact Fr. Penta at penta@commorg.onmicrosoft.com to learn how to gain access.

Meanwhile, the Archbishop's dispensation concerning Catholics' obligation to attend Sunday Mass continues to hold for the time being. Because of the restrictions placed on the number of participants for liturgies, it is unlikely that everyone will be able to attend Mass every Sunday, and so prayer at home is encouraged.
